Alot of people out there want to know more about Tampadancehall.com besides a front page and a radio station so here it is....bless
Tampadancehall Media Group (TDMG) as we are frequently referred as, was founded in March of 2006 in Tampa Florida, by a group of enthusiastic west indian party and music lovers.
After some years in southwestern Florida, we began to realize what tampa was missing. Somewhere we can all interact and find out more about our city's reggae culture. Since then, we have been promoting not only in Tampa, but in other cities, on the internet, anywhere possible just to get recognized and taken in by the dancehall world. We then wondered, "People won't just come to any regular website, we have to do something different to keep them there." That's were the radio station came in. One of the sounds representing Tampadancehall has always wanted to play on the radio, but never got a chance to, and here was their perfect chance to shine.
With a built-in phone line, and a live camera, we knew we had the fans where we wanted them. Then we began adding the rest of "Di Family" to the days of the week, and we are beginning to leak slowly but surely. Music is what the family of Tampdancehall.com loves more than anything. To keep our radio station new and fresh, we have come up with a proposal to all new and upcoming artists around the world. It is very simple: Send us your music, we introduce you and play your songs on the radio. The artists responded almost instantly, all the way from England to Connecticut back to Tampa. Here at Tampadancehall.com we endorse everyone who asks for that extra push to get where they want to reach, especially because we have an artist as well, Spanky aka "John Doe" who will definately be known in the industry - memba we tol yuh!
Aside from the radio station, yes we promote dances and even put on our own to keep the people satisfied and just to have some enjoyment. Our best dance, the P.L.U.S.H Fest which is an annual event, every July 4th, where all the caribbean DJs in Tampa give back to the community. Oh, how we reminisce.Even without fireworks, the children had fun as well flying down the water slides we brought out for them, and if that wasn't enough they had the bounce about as well. To top it all off, it was an outdoor event so the back home feel is what made the dance SELL OFF!! The P.L.U.S.H Fest is what made us come to the decision that we should keep in touch with Mike's BBQ, where the first dance was held.HEATWAVE 2k6 can possibly become annual as well and we hope it connects us with Tampa even more, because we are here to stay.
